With clinical studies well under way, Gaia Medical Institute moves toward development of rapid, non-invasive, point-of-care diagnostic tools for some of the most critical challenges facing our Armed Forces today.
Gaia aims to develop a novel rapid, non-invasive, point-of-care diagnostic tool for monitoring patients infected with the HIV virus in low-resource community clinics.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Despite the clinical importance of TBI, there is currently no objective test for the condition. To close this gap, Gaia is developing a saliva test to detect mTBI (mild TBI/Concusssion) and PCS (Post Concussion Syndrome). The test will be rapid and simple for use at sport sidelines, sport injury clinics, emergency rooms or the home. The saliva test for TBI will break new ground by improving clinical management of TBI.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Our mission is to develop an objective, rapid test for PTSD assessment in point-of-care settings. This test will facilitate early detection in impacted subjects, guide effective individualized treatment of PTSD, and provide objective metrics for an informed return-to-duty decision.
Commercial Product Development
Gaia has several products for medical diagnostics currently in development.
